Five committed Greenlanders have just received grants from Ivalo & Minik Fonden, enabling them to embark on their dream of advancing their education abroad. With a total distribution of nearly 220,000 DKK, this semester’s grants will take the five students to countries such as Canada, Japan, USA, and Norway.
Chairman Minik Rosing is pleased that the board of Ivalo & Minik Fonden has once again had the opportunity to support students in reaching their educational aspirations.
“Each round of grant’s reminds us of how dedicated and courageous these young Greenlanders are as they seek new experiences around the world. They demonstrate incredible commitment and a willingness to return home to strengthen our society with new knowledge and fresh perspectives,” he says.
The annual contributions to Ivalo & Minik Fonden from Royal Greenland, Royal Arctic Line, NunaFonden, and the GrønlandsBANKEN’s Erhvervsfond are what make it possible to support Greenlandic students abroad. Their continued commitment is crucial in helping Greenlanders reach new educational heights.
“Without our loyal contributors, it would not be possible to help so many. Their contribution is not only financial support for students—it is also an investment in Greenland’s future,” says Minik Rosing.
The board of Ivalo & Minik Fonden meets twice a year to award grants to applicants with ambitions to study outside of Greenland and Denmark. The next application deadline is February 15, 2025, and Ivalo & Minik Fonden hopes to receive many qualified applications from Greenlanders eager to pursue their educational dreams.
